Inexpensive TV Spot Created Using Web Cam Footage

Build a hospital in :30
Sherman Hospital was building the first new hospital in the area in over a decade. The New Hospital was located a few hundred yards off a main road, so traffic driving by didn’t have a view of the construction process. We set Sherman up with a web cam that streamed the construction live.
We also automated a still shot daily, and when the construction was finished we were able to quickly create:
- A time lapse video showing the building go from the ground up in :30. We posted to YouTube, blogs, Facebook, and other sites.
- An ad with the headline “Progress Makes Perfect” that showed a monthly view of the hospital from the ground up.
- A flip book that was used as a giveaway to employees and VIPs.
Both were so popular we were able to use the time-lapse video to produce an inexpensive, digitally created TV spot that ran on Chicagoland cable channels to promote the new hospital opening. You can view the spot above, which shows a progression of web cam screenshots with a commissioned musical score that builds to the final shot of the beautiful new hospital.
